On this Macan S we began with the braking system, then reviewed tyre age and cracking, oil traces around the engine and transmission, coolant, driveline fluids and suspension rubber. No parts were replaced during this inspection.
02 / DISCUSS BEFORE PURCHASE
We recommended replacing both front and rear brake discs
The measured front and rear discs were judged to be beyond their wear limits. The pads had about 4–4.5 mm remaining, and we recommended replacing them with the discs.

We recommended replacing the front tyres before winter
The front tyres were made in 2020 and showed surface cracking. The rear tyres were made in 2023. Because their age and condition differed, the front pair went into the pre-winter maintenance plan.
03 / ITEMS TO MONITOR
The oil traces led to a warranty check or continued observation
Oil was visible around the engine-to-transmission joint and the rocker cover. The finding did not warrant immediate repair at the time. We recommended checking the vehicle's performance-warranty terms or cleaning the affected areas and watching for fresh oil.
The coolant sat at the MIN line, so the level should be maintained and monitored for change.
We also recorded bush cracking and grease traces near a CV joint
Cracks were visible in suspension bushes. Their service timing should be based on noise, play and whether the cracking progresses. Grease around the CV joint appeared likely to be residue from earlier work. We recommended cleaning the area and checking whether fresh grease appears before deciding that a new failure is present.

The transmission-oil sample looked sound that day
The sample comparison was satisfactory on the inspection day. That result does not establish when the oil was changed or replace the service history. Existing invoices should be checked against their dates and mileages.
We recommended changing the transfer-case oil, differential oil and brake fluid.

Discuss the brakes and warranty terms
Price the front and rear discs, pads and proposed preventive front brake-hose replacement. Record how the oil traces will be handled under the applicable warranty or seller agreement.

Oil traces, coolant, bushes and CV-joint area
Cleaning the areas or correcting the level makes it easier to distinguish fresh change from old residue at the next visit.
Transmission-oil history
The sample looked sound, but it did not prove the change history. Check any existing service invoice for date and mileage.
An inspection finding cannot secure warranty approval or a price adjustment. It can identify likely maintenance before the contract and support a practical discussion about cost responsibility or the vehicle price.
