Mercedes-Benz G500 · Oils and Filters After Purchase
A returning customer brought in a newly purchased, directly imported G500 for maintenance at approximately 48,000km. We changed the oils and filters and carried out cooling system service.
We checked the quantity and condition of the drained engine oil. After exchanging the transmission fluid, we set the level under the required temperature conditions.

A 2019 G500 with AMG-style exterior parts
This directly imported 2019 G500 wears AMG-style exterior parts. This generation of the G500 uses a 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, rated by Mercedes-Benz at 422PS. It may look similar to a G63, but the vehicle is a G500.
The model and fitted parts need to be identified before service. On this G500, we checked the drained engine oil and set the transmission-fluid level under the required temperature conditions after the exchange.

02
Engine oil checks and transmission fluid exchange
We collected the engine oil in graduated containers to check its quantity and condition. This also gives us a quantity to compare at the next oil change.
A HENGST oil filter was fitted. We used 16L during the transmission-fluid exchange, then set the level under the required temperature conditions. That is the fluid used during this exchange, not the specified amount retained inside the transmission.
03
Air filter replacement and cooling system service
We inspected the removed air filter and fitted a new MANN replacement.
Cooling system service was also carried out as requested by the customer.
04
Work completed and the next service
We replaced the engine oil and oil filter, transmission fluid and engine air filter, and carried out cooling system service. The transmission work included the final fluid-level check.
At the next oil change, we can check the distance and time since this service, the drained quantity and any signs of leakage. If you have noticed a driving concern, please tell us the speed and circumstances in which it occurs.
