BMW G30 tyres and TPMS: alignment after fitting new tyres
Wheel alignment matters if new tyres are to wear well. This 2018 BMW G30 received Goodyear EfficientGrip tyres and replacement TPMS sensors, followed by Road Force measurement and front and rear toe adjustment.

Goodyear EfficientGrip in two sizes
The replacement tyres were Goodyear EfficientGrip in 245/45 R18 and 275/40 R18. We replaced the TPMS sensors while the tyres were removed.
TPMS sensors use batteries. When a sensor's battery is exhausted, the sensor needs replacement. Checking them during tyre work can reduce the need to remove the tyres again.

Road Force measurement after fitting
The tyres were removed and fitted with a Hunter Revolution, then measured on the Road Force machine. Conventional balancing checks mass imbalance without roller load; Road Force applies a roller load to assess force variation as the tyre rolls.
After assembly, we measured RFV and started the vehicle's TPMS reset. The work covered both tyre fitting and sensor setup.

Alignment results after tyre replacement
On the complete before-adjustment screen, front-left toe was 3.5mm and front-right was 2.8mm. Both were outside the machine's reference range. After adjustment, both read 1.3mm.
Rear toe changed from 1.9mm left and 0.7mm right to 1.6mm and 1.5mm. Fitting tyres does not change the wheel angles by itself. Here we adjusted both axles alongside the tyre replacement.

Questions before booking
Does fitting new tyres automatically correct alignment?
Tyre replacement and alignment adjustment are separate jobs. On this G30, we checked the measurements after fitting and adjusted front and rear toe.
Must TPMS sensors always be replaced with the tyres?
No. Replacement depends on sensor condition. This car had its tyres and TPMS sensors replaced together.
