Grand Koleos: correcting the wheel just to drive straight
Steering and noise checked on the road.
The post-adjustment road test confirmed the improvement, and the owner left satisfied.
A 2025 Grand Koleos (2WD) came in at roughly 15,000 km. The owner had felt the car pulling left since early in their ownership. A service-centre visit at around 5,000 km did not resolve it, and they later came to NHC on a recommendation from an owners' community.
On the initial road test, the wheel had to be held slightly to the right to travel straight. We checked the owner’s sense of centre against the wheel position during straight driving, then measured all four wheels.

- Complaint
- Left pull since early ownership, remaining after a previous inspection
- Findings
- Steering held right to travel straight; unequal left/right toe
- Work
- Steering centre → front/rear toe adjustment → road test
- Result / care
- Pull resolved and noise reduced on the road test; check driving feel after future tyre work
01
Initial condition
The owner told us the tyres had been rotated two to three weeks earlier. During the drive we checked both the left pull and pronounced road noise. The owner could not say whether the noise had increased after the rotation.
The right-front toe was shown in red on the equipment. Both rear readings were green, but their left/right values differed. We checked the steering centre, toe distribution and driving behaviour together, beyond the screen colours alone.
“This car is very sensitive. The alignment needs to be set precisely.”
See the checks for a persistent pull in our persistent-pull guide.

Four-wheel comparison
We first checked how the owner held the wheel while driving straight. After confirming the centre position together, we secured the wheel and adjusted front and rear toe.
Total front toe remained 1.6 mm. The change was in its left/right distribution. We balanced that distribution and adjusted rear toe, then drove the vehicle again to check the original pull and steering feel.

| Item | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Front toe L/R | 0.2 / 1.4 mm | 0.8 / 0.8 mm |
| Rear toe L/R | 0.7 / 1.8 mm | 1.3 / 1.3 mm |
| Front camber L/R | −0.86° / −1.04° | −0.88° / −0.99° |
| Rear camber L/R | −0.90° / −1.09° | −0.92° / −1.10° |
| Front caster L/R | 4.88° / 4.91° | 4.88° / 4.94° |
| Rear total toe | 2.5 mm | 2.6 mm |
| Thrust angle | −0.04° | 0.00° |
L/R is left/right from inside the vehicle. Camber and caster are recorded readings; their differences do not indicate separate adjustment.

Centre position and response
Changes from the initial drive
The post-adjustment road test resolved the left pull reported on arrival. Steering felt tighter and more responsive, and tyre noise was noticeably lower. The owner was satisfied with the change before leaving.
The noise and steering improvements describe what we observed on this road test. After a future tyre rotation or replacement, checking the steering centre and driving feel together will help with ongoing care.
A small pull is tiring when you drive the car every day. We give Renault and other Korean-market daily drivers the same attention to measurement, the owner’s complaint and the final driving feel that we give high-performance imports.

Questions
Does a nearly new car need an alignment check if it pulls?
A low-mileage vehicle still warrants inspection if it pulls persistently or needs an off-centre steering position to travel straight. Tyre pressure and condition, steering centre and wheel angles should be checked.
Is being in the green range enough?
Both rear readings were green before this adjustment, yet the left/right toe values differed. The allowed range, toe distribution, steering centre and driving behaviour all need to be considered.
Can alignment reduce tyre noise?
Tyre noise decreased on the road test after this adjustment. Tyre type, wear and road surface also affect noise, so we inspect the actual condition before deciding on work.
Do Korean daily drivers receive the same attention?
Yes. We measure and adjust Korean daily drivers using procedures suited to the vehicle, as we do for high-performance imports. Listening to the complaint and checking the driving result are equally important.
Correcting the wheel to drive straight?
Let us check what you are feeling.
We will check the steering centre, wheel angles and tyre condition, explain the adjustments needed and check the driving result with you.
We explain the scope of any repairs and the estimate before proceeding with your approval.
