Range Rover Sport SVR still pulling left after alignment: checking the tyres
We checked the vehicle's handling alongside its fluid service. Alignment was adjusted, but the road test still showed a leftward pull. We continued with tyre testing under load and match mounting.

The readings are in range, so why is driving still uncomfortable?
After adjusting the alignment, the road test still showed the car moving left despite steering corrections. Repeated correction made longer drives uncomfortable.
An in-range display does not finish the diagnosis if the car still pulls. Tyre pressures, condition and wheel-and-tyre characteristics also need checking.

First, we corrected the four-wheel alignment
Before adjustment, front toe measured -3.2mm on the left and 6.8mm on the right. Right rear toe was also outside the equipment's reference range at -6.0mm.
We set front toe to 1.6mm on each side and rear toe to 1.8mm on each side. Rear thrust angle changed from 0.30° to 0.00°. The car still pulled left on the road test, so the tyres required further attention.
Before adjustment
Front left/right and rear left/right toe (mm)
After adjustment
Front left/right and rear left/right toe (mm)
Toe direction is exaggerated at the same scale for comparison; these are not actual wheel angles. Red and green indicate readings outside and inside the equipment's reference range.
| Position | Toe before → after (mm) | Camber before → after (°) |
|---|---|---|
| Front left | -3.2 → 1.6 | -0.54 → -0.57 |
| Front right | 6.8 → 1.6 | -0.61 → -0.56 |
| Rear left | 1.7 → 1.8 | -2.08 → -2.10 |
| Rear right | -6.0 → 1.8 | -1.57 → -1.55 |
Front and rear alignment readings before and after adjustment. A remaining pull during the subsequent road test led to further tyre testing.

Rotating tyres on the rims and measuring again
We changed the tyre-to-rim positions and measured road force again. After three match-mounting attempts, the readings were within the equipment's reference range.
RFV measured under load is different from wheel balancing with correction weights. We reviewed all four measurements and the suggested wheel positions. The suggested-layout screen displayed road-force values of 7.0, 8.0, 4.5 and 5.5kg.

Drivetrain fluids are part of SVR maintenance too
Alongside the engine oil and filter, we serviced the brake fluid, differential oils and transfer-case fluid. BG equipment was connected for the brake-fluid service, and each drivetrain system was serviced with its appropriate fluid and filling procedure.
The 5.0 petrol SVR is chosen for its driving performance. Drivetrain fluids and tyres need attention alongside the engine oil.

Questions before booking
Why might a car still pull after alignment?
Tyre characteristics, pressures and suspension condition also affect straight-line behaviour. If symptoms remain after adjustment, road-test conditions and the tyres need further investigation.
Are road-force testing and wheel balancing the same service?
Wheel balancing corrects mass imbalance in the rotating wheel and tyre. RFV testing measures variations in force as a roller applies load. One result cannot substitute for the other.
Does your car still pull after an alignment?
Send us the previous alignment sheet and current tyre details. Tell us at what speed and on which road surfaces the problem occurs so we can arrange the appropriate checks.
We explain the work and cost before proceeding with your agreement.
