MINI Cooper S transmission oil: the job continues after refilling
Transmission oil is not changed as often as engine oil, so using the correct fluid and completing the required procedures both matter. We serviced this 2020 MINI Cooper S at 54,415km using BG MAX equipment and completed the oil-wear reset with a diagnostic tool.

Checking mileage and draining the oil
The instrument cluster showed 54,415km before work. Transmission-oil intervals are longer than engine-oil intervals and can be overlooked, so recorded mileage is a starting point for the inspection.
The transmission oil was drained and collected.

Servicing with BG MAX equipment
We connected BG MAX equipment to the vehicle for the transmission-oil service. The used oil was collected in containers and inspected.
Correct fluid specification and filling procedure matter as much as the equipment. The job includes checking the drained quantity and setting the oil level according to the transmission's service procedure.

Checking oil temperature and completing the wear reset
The diagnostic tool specified 40–58°C as the oil-temperature condition for the wear reset. The displayed temperature was 48.5°C, within that range, when the procedure was carried out.
The screen then confirmed a successful transmission oil-wear reset. The 40–58°C range is the condition for that reset function, not a specification for fluid-level adjustment.

It depends on the vehicle, transmission and driving conditions. Mileage and drained-fluid condition help determine an appropriate interval.
Are the oil-wear reset and level adjustment the same job?
No. Level adjustment sets the actual fluid quantity under specified conditions; the wear reset is a separate diagnostic procedure. The reset completion screen was recorded on this vehicle.
