Ferrari 488 Pista maintenance
fluids, spark plugs and wheel alignment
A Ferrari 488 Pista came in for preventive maintenance. Ferrari developed this 720 cv special series with solutions derived from the 488 GTE and 488 Challenge. This car had covered about 6,000 km and came in to preserve its condition with preventive maintenance.
The visit combined engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil, brake fluid and spark-plug replacement with wheel alignment, giving the owner one clear maintenance plan.

01
Maintaining the condition the owner wanted to keep
The car was in good condition. Its owner wanted to keep it that way and chose to have the fluids and service parts replaced during this visit.
Cars like this are often saved for special drives rather than daily commuting. Low mileage can still mean a long time since the last oil change. The date of the last change matters alongside the distance covered.
Oil maintenance is a basic part of ownership. Delaying necessary maintenance to save on an oil change can mean a much larger repair bill later. For a car driven infrequently, review the service history alongside the manufacturer’s recommended intervals.
02
Engine, transmission and differential oils
We changed the engine oil, followed by the transmission and differential oils. Access to the driveline required removing the underbody covers and rear diffuser, taking care with the carbon parts and nearby connectors.

03
Brake fluid replacement and careful clean-up
After replacing the brake fluid, we cleaned residual fluid from the work areas and checked that none was left on the surrounding paintwork.

04
Spark plugs in the mid-mounted V8
The tight engine bay required surrounding parts to be removed before reaching the spark plugs. With enough access to avoid straining hoses and carbon parts, we replaced the plugs on both banks.

05
Matching toe side to side
Front toe changed from left +0.2 mm and right −0.6 mm to −0.9 mm on both sides. Rear toe changed from left +2.2 mm and right +1.1 mm to +1.5 mm on both sides. Rear thrust angle changed from 0.06° to 0.00°.
Rear camber remained outside the range shown on the alignment screen after adjustment.
