Kia Mohave: replacing the shocks is not the last step
The new parts matter, but so do the bushes and adjustment bolts around them. This Mohave received shock-absorber work and alignment, with seized adjusters identified for further attention.

Vehicle: 2015 Kia Mohave
Work: front shock-absorber replacement, ride-height tightening, RFV checks and wheel alignment
Finding: seized bush/adjuster connections limited the adjustment work
Outcome: adjusted within the available range; further repair needs explained

Removed parts and the replacement assembly
The photographs show a removed front suspension assembly and its replacement assembly during the work. We checked the surrounding mount and connection areas as part of the job.
Fitting a new shock absorber does not automatically correct the working position of every connected rubber bush. The assembly and tightening conditions still need attention.

The adjustment bolt and bush moved together
During adjustment, a seized connection was found where the bolt and bush moved together. The workshop video also records restricted movement at the toe adjuster.
We adjusted within the available range and explained the additional repair needs. The shock-absorber replacement shown above should not be confused with replacement of those seized adjusters.

Set the working position before finishing alignment
A bonded rubber bush needs to be tightened at the specified suspension position. Tightening it with the suspension hanging can leave the rubber under unwanted twist once the car carries its weight.
Ride-height tightening is part of correct assembly, but it cannot renew a damaged or seized component. This Mohave needed both the adjustment results and the remaining repair needs explained.

The wheel readings after the available adjustment
Front toe changed from −0.4 / −1.3 mm to 1.0 / 1.0 mm. Rear toe changed from 1.4 / −0.6 mm to 0.9 / 1.2 mm.
These figures show the alignment reached during this visit. They do not mean the seized connections were repaired.

Tyres were measured as well
The recorded tyre-assembly RFV values were 4.0, 3.0, 6.5 and 4.0 kg for assemblies 1–4. The equipment also displayed a placement arrangement for lower vibration.
For an older SUV, the useful question is which parts need replacement and which settings can be corrected. The photos, measurements and repair advice let the owner plan the next step.

Questions before booking
Can ride-height tightening fix a seized bush?
No. Correct tightening establishes the intended working position; a seized or damaged connection may still require repair or replacement.
Were all of the seized adjustment parts replaced?
The visit was completed with adjustment within the available range and advice on further repair. The photographed front shock-absorber replacement is a separate operation.
Still uncomfortable after replacing the shock absorbers?
Tell us which parts were replaced and when your Mohave’s ride or steering feels uncomfortable. We will inspect the installation, bushings and adjusters, then explain what can be adjusted and what needs repair.
We explain the scope and cost after inspecting the vehicle and proceed with your agreement.
