Mileage alone does not decide replacement

The odometer showed 217,319 km. Deciding whether to clean or replace a used DPF requires looking at its condition, not just its mileage.

We smoke-tested the vehicle and removed the existing DPF. The filter inlet and exhaust connection were inspected during the work.

24 hPa before cleaning; 12 hPa afterwards

The equipment recorded peak values of 24 hPa before cleaning and 12 hPa afterwards. Both displays were retained as part of the work record.

These are bench readings for the removed filter. Subsequent vehicle monitoring should consider diagnostic values alongside how the car runs.

Service history matters as mileage increases

Monitoring was agreed after this work. Completing the clean does not end the need to check the car’s condition.

If a DPF concern returns, knowing when cleaning and repairs took place is useful. The saved record helps identify what has changed before repeating work or replacing parts.

Further action will be considered while monitoring symptoms and diagnostic results after cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Is replacement compulsory after 200,000 km?

Mileage alone does not decide it. Filter condition and diagnostic findings matter. The existing filter was cleaned in this case.

Does halving the pressure mean twice the performance?

No. These are peak readings on cleaning equipment, not a measure of restored engine power or filter life.
