AMG GT 63 S Engine Oil Change: Low Mileage, but We Still Check the Tires
We changed the engine oil and oil filter on a 2020 AMG GT 63 S and added BG MOA. While the car was on the lift, we measured the tire tread and set the pressures to 34 psi front and 42 psi rear.
Even on a car that isn't driven much, stopping at the oil change can mean missing something. On this AMG GT 63 S, we changed the engine oil at 15,408 km and checked the tire tread and pressures at the same time.

Draining the Oil and Checking the Filter and Sealing Parts
We drained the old oil and removed the used filter. We prepared a new filter and also checked the drain components and sealing washer. Making sure the drain point seals properly matters just as much as putting in fresh oil.
At NHC, we also look at the oil that comes out. Recording how much was put in last time and how much was topped up in between makes it easier to compare how much oil was used by the next change.

We Used PETRONAS 5W-40 and BG MOA
For the engine oil, we used PETRONAS Syntium 5000 E 5W-40. We also added BG MOA, an engine treatment. When choosing an oil, we check both the viscosity and the specification the engine requires.

Checking Tread Depth and Front and Rear Tire Pressures
While the car was on the lift, we placed a gauge in the tire grooves to check the remaining tread depth. After a visual inspection of the tires, we set the pressures to 34 psi front and 42 psi rear. We also topped up the washer fluid.
Low mileage doesn't mean the tires can be skipped. Checking for wear and damage since the last inspection is what lets us plan the next service.

Does an AMG that isn't driven much still need engine oil maintenance?
Yes. Even with low mileage, we set the change interval by looking at when the oil was last changed and how the car is used. This car had its engine oil and oil filter changed at 15,408 km.
Can I use the same 5W-40 from this car in another AMG?
Even within AMG, the specification the engine requires has to be checked first. This car received PETRONAS Syntium 5000 E 5W-40; for other models, we choose the product after confirming the model year and engine details.
Is there a reason the front and rear pressures are different?
The correct pressure can differ front to rear depending on the vehicle and tire specifications, so we set it separately for each wheel position. This car was adjusted to 34 psi front and 42 psi rear.
